What’s in My Kitchen: An Update (Part 3)

Posted on Posted in Inspiration

This is a bonus post!  I already posted about the things I always have on hand in my fridge and pantry.  This time, I’ll write about the cooking implements that are a priority in my kitchen.  Don’t worry, I won’t write about every piece of equipment I own, just the ones that are my favorite for cooking!IMG_1102

  1. Cast iron pan (can’t emphasize this enough)
  2. Chef’s knife (this is my favorite, I can’t say enough good things about it)
  3. A few knives of other sizes
  4. Cutting boards, multiple sizes
  5. Cast iron pizza pan
  6. Dutch oven
  7. 3 or 4 saute pans and pots of different sizes, with lids
  8. Pie plate or 9×13 baking dish
  9. Tongs
  10. Spatula (one silicone, one flat for flipping)
  11. Whisk
  12. Spoon and ladle
  13. Pizza cutter
  14. Grater (my favorite is the Microplane)
  15. Coffee grinder
  16. Blender (if you’re lucky, get a Vitamix!)
  17. Lots of paper towels!
  18. Strainer and sieve
  19. Wet and dry measuring cups (granted I rarely measure things for cooking)
  20. Kitchen scale
  21. For the bar: cocktail shaker, spoon, muddler, wine and beer openers
  22. Containers for leftovers
  23. Teapot and tea ball
  24. Kettle

Not very expensive and the most highly rated by America’s Test Kitchen!

Of course there are also things you’d need for baking, eating, drinking, etc., but that varies person to person, so I won’t go there.  Also it would be overwhelming.

Anything you’d like to add?

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
