The Girl Next Door: Another cocktail

Posted on Posted in Recipes

This cocktail was created for my friend (creator of another cocktail that will be featured soon) for her bridal shower.  We all had to give her recipes, but since most of my recipes are already online, I wanted to make a unique one.  I had already purchase a few of her bar tools off her registry to give as a gift, so I decided to make a cocktail especially for her.  This cocktail was inspired by our favorite cocktail, The Girl Next Door, from the Regal Beagle, our go-to girls’ night out spot in Brookline.  Unfortunately, I only had the ingredients, not the amounts, so I went for the classic ratio of 2:1:1:dashes:splashes, as given by Alton Brown, and the results turned out pretty good!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Ruby Red Absolut
  • 1 oz fresh squeeze grapefruit juice
  • 1 oz orange liquor (Grand Marnier is best, but triple sec is a good cheap alternative)
  • Splash prosecco
  1. Combine the first three ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake for 30 seconds.  Pour into martini glasses (the little round ones are the cutest) and top with a splash of prosecco.

It’s the cute pink drink!

That’s all it takes for a perfect night in!
